Tokyo’s New 24-hour, Edo-themed Onsen Complex Opening in February

A new 24-hour onsen spa complex with an Edo period theme is set to open in Toyosu, Tokyo on February 1, 2024.

Named “Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai,” the large-scale project by hospitality company Manyo Club will transform the port area with two sections – a shopping and dining venue called Toyosu Offsite Edomae Market and a public bathhouse named Tokyo Toyosu Manyo Club.

An open-air bath designed for relaxation, providing views of the city and waterfront.

The commercial area will span about 14,690 square meters over four floors, immersing visitors in the atmosphere of old Tokyo. Traditional materials like Tama lumber, Awaji Island tiles, and Mikage stones recreate the historic aesthetic on a grand scale.

Inside, guests can savor sushi, tempura, robatayaki, and other dishes prepared with the famously fresh seafood from next-door Toyosu Market. Local shops sell traditional crafts and goods as well.

Meanwhile, the adjoining spa building extends over nine floors and 19,095 square meters. Filled with therapeutic waters trucked in daily from the Hakone-Yugawara hot springs, facilities include indoor and open-air baths, saunas, bedrock baths, massages, and more.

Two rooftop footbath gardens provide panoramic views of Tokyo Bay that transform into glittering night vistas. The observation garden on the rooftop, complete with a foot bath, offers a splendid panoramic view of Toyosu’s waterfront area.

Catering to today’s non-stop lifestyles, the spa will operate 24 hours daily with relaxation spaces, lounges, and a restaurant serving late-night fare.

Manyo Club aims to create an urban oasis here, bringing the feeling of a hot spring resort to the heart of Tokyo.

Toyosu is already a popular destination, home to Tokyo’s main fish and produce wholesale market which relocated from Tsukiji in 2018. The addition of Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai looks set to increase tourism and establish the island as a leading lifestyle hub.

The facilities form part of redevelopment plans for the former industrial zone while meeting increased interest in wellness experiences.

When doors open on February 1, 2024, this Edo-themed commercial and spa complex will offer visitors a taste of historic Tokyo fused with modern convenience.

Immersed in tradition yet open 24 hours, Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai blends past charm with around-the-clock hospitality suited to today’s world.
